Ronald Quandt, a tipster which usually leaks info through Twitter, has shared specifications for the Moto XT1750 smartphone. Now, this handset got certified by the FCC earlier this month, and at first, it seemed like we’re looking at a new Moto X smartphone for 2017, but if the leaked specs are any indication, that could not be further from the truth. The source shared Moto XT1750’s specs, and they’re underwhelming, to say the least, as this seems to be an entry-level smartphone for emerging markets.
According to Ronald Quandt, the Moto XT1750 smartphone will sport a 5-inch 854 x 480 LCD panel along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Now, the FCC listing did report ‘8GB’ for this device, and we assumed that it’s referring to internal storage, but some other publications were under the impression that this phone will ship with 8GB of RAM, and be the next Moto flagship. In any case, the source also says that the phone will ship with a 2,350mAh battery, and two SIM card slots, though neither of those slots will support 4G LTE connectivity, which is a shame. A 5-megapixel camera will be placed on the back of this smartphone, and a 2-megapixel shooter will be available on the phone’s front side. Interestingly enough, the source claims that both of these camera sensors will ship with fixed focus, which is quite odd in this day and age. MediaTek’s MT6580M SoC running at 1.3GHz will fuel the Moto XT1750 handset, and Bluetooth 4.0 will also be a part of the package.
So, it seems like the Moto XT1750 is not a new Moto X smartphone, but rather a new Moto E devices for emerging markets, at least based on these specs. This device is inferior to the Moto E3 Power which launched last year, and it’s quite similar to the Moto E (2nd-gen) which launched back in February 2015. In any case, this phone will be extremely affordable, and chances are it will be available for purchase in emerging markets, as it’s definitely an entry-level device. Nothing has been confirmed just yet, so stay tuned, Lenovo will probably release more info in the near future.
