OPPO, one of the largest Chinese smartphone manufacturers, had released the OPPO R9s Plus smartphone back in October last year. The phone was made available for purchase in China in December, and the company did bring that device with them to Barcelona, to this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC). The OPPO R9s Plus is one of OPPO’s most powerful handsets, well, truth be told, quite probably their most powerful device. That is rather interesting considering that the OPPO R9s Plus comes with a mid-range SoC, the Snapdragon 653 64-bit octa-core processor. This phablet is made out of metal, and its home key / fingerprint scanner is placed below the display. The OPPO R9s Plus sports a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display on its front side, and its power / lock key is placed on the right-hand side of its body. There are two physical keys on the left side of the OPPO R9s Plus, volume up and volume down buttons, while the SIM card tray can be found on the right side of this phone. The OPPO R9s Plus is fueled by a mid-range SoC, but it packs in 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage, you can expand its memory up to 256GB via a microSD card.
This phone comes with two 16-megapixel snappers, one is placed on its back, and the other one on its front side. A 16-megapixel shooter on the back is more powerful than the front-facing one (f/1.7 aperture, OIS, PDAF, 1.55um pixel size). A non-removable 4,000mAh battery (fast charging included) is also included in this package, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the OPPO R9s Plus. and on top of it you’re getting OPPO’s custom UI. The OPPO R9s Plus is available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold color variants, though it’s not exactly available all over the world. OPPO sells most of its devices in China, though their phones are also available in other parts of Asia, and some regions outside of Asia.
