Yesterday, what seemed to be The Huawei P10 Lite passed through the FCC bearing model number WAS-LX1A, and today it looks like the same device reared its head in a handful of photos leaked through an unnamed network operator in China, cited by WinFuture. Reportedly, in China the smartphone is known as the “Huawei Nova Youth Edition”, but according to the source the smartphone at hand could very well be the Huawei P10 Lite rebranded for its homeland.
The Huawei Nova Youth Edition, as shown in the leaked images below, seems to have been treated with a metallic frame, not unlike the Huawei P9 Lite released last year. The metallic frame is segmented at the bottom by two antenna bands flanking the USB connector, microphone, and speaker, whereas the top of the device appears to accommodates a second microphone along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The back panel holds a rear-facing camera and flash, along with a fingerprint recognition sensor, and the front panel is clear of any physical buttons. Otherwise, the source reveals that the so-called Huawei Nova Youth Edition – or Huawei P10 Lite – weighs 146 grams in a chassis whose profile measures 7.2 mm. The smartphone will reportedly launch with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, sprinkled on top with Huawei’s proprietary user interface EMUI 5.1.
It’s worth noting that unlike the Huawei Nova Youth Edition, the Huawei P10 Lite which was previously spotted in the Geekbench database was listed as running Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.0 on top. The same benchmarking tool revealed that the smartphone should make use of an in-house Huawei Kirin System-on-Chip, presumably the Huawei Kirin 655 boasting a total of eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores in a quad+quad configuration, as well as 4 GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, a 12-megapixel main camera coupled with an 8-megapixel rear-facing sensor, 64 GB of on-board storage, and a 2,900 mAh battery. In any case, according to the latest reports, the Huawei Nova Youth Edition will be launched in China in a variety of colors at the end of March, including white, black, blue, and pink.
