New Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 report has just surfaced, and if it is accurate, the Galaxy S8 will be launched on April 21st, and the LG G6 will become available on March 10th. This information comes from ET News, and the source also adds that Samsung decided not to launch the Galaxy S8 (and Galaxy S8 Plus, probably) a week early in Korea in order to make sure that it has ‘stable supplies’ in other markets. So, it seems like we’re getting simultaneous launches of the Galaxy S8 in a ton of markets, as was the case with the Galaxy Note 7.
Now, according to the source, the LG G6 pre-sales will start on March 2, and will last until March 9, the day after that, the company will start shipping pre-ordered units and start selling the phone normally in a number of markets. ET News did not share any such info for the Galaxy S8, we do not know when will pre-orders kick off, but if the info is accurate, the phone will become available on April 21. The source also mentioned that the info regarding Galaxy S8’s simultaneous launch arrived from a “high-ranking official for a mobile network provider in South Korea”. There you have it, these are the latest leaked dates, though we really don’t have to wait long for LG to provide us with more info, as the company will announce the LG G6 during their MWC 2017 event on February 26. We still do not know when will Samsung introduce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, but the company will share that info during this year’s Mobile World Congress, even though they will not announce the two phones during the tradeshow.
The Galaxy S8 and LG G6 will both sport displays with rounded corners, and rear-facing fingerprint scanners. Though the two devices will not look all that similar, and their internals will be quite different as well. The Galaxy S8 is expected to sport a 5.8-inch display (6.2-inch for the Galaxy S8 Plus variant), while it will also ship with 4GB / 6GB of RAM on the inside. Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 SoC will fuel this smartphone (market dependant), and it seems like both the regular and ‘Plus’ variant of the device will sport curved displays. The LG G6, on the other hand, is expected to sport a 5.3 or 5.7-inch QHD display (depending on which rumor your opt to believe), and will come with 4GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 821 processor.
