Xiaomi is planning to announce the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 handset this year, if the latest rumor is to be believed. The Xiaomi Mi Max was Xiaomi’s highly popular phablet, especially if you wanted your phablet to have a truly huge display. The Xiaomi Mi Max sports a 6.4-inch panel, and it seems like its successor will be just as big, at least if today’s rumor is to be believed. According to the provided info, Xiaomi has already designed the Xiaomi Mi Max 2, and the phone will be announced in May, a year after the original Mi Max phablet. The source also claims that the phone will, once again, feature a 6.44-inch display, though it does not say anything about its resolution, though we’ll probably get a fullHD (1920 x 1080) panel once again. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC will, allegedly, fuel this smartphone, and you’ll also get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage inside of it if you opt to purchase it. To make things even more interesting, the phone’s internal storage will be expandable, if the source is to be believed, and the phone will ship with a 5,000mAh battery which will offer fast charging, presumably Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
So, as you can see, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will, essentially, be a more powerful variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max, too bad we don’t have more info about its design.
