Samsung Chromebook Plus Accessories – Feb 2017

After being announced at CES 2017 last month, the Samsung Chromebook Plus is finally available for purchase. The Chromebook Plus is the cheaper of the two Chromebooks that Samsung announced, and it does come with a stylus as well as USB-C ports. Now that you’ve picked up your Chromebook Plus, it’s time to pick up some accessories as well.

Samsung 128GB micro SD Card

Like most Chromebooks, the Chromebook Plus does not have a whole lot of storage available, but it does have an SD card slot available for expanding that storage, and this micro SD card is a great one to pick up. This has 128GB of storage and it is also fairly cheap. Additionally, you can also quickly pop it into your smartphone for more storage.

FanTEK 3-Pack USB-C to Micro USB Adapter

Since the Chromebook Plus uses a USB-C connector, many people will likely need to pick up new cables to charge their Chromebook Plus. Luckily, you can also grab these adapters, and you’ll be able to plug in virtually any micro USB cable to your Chromebook Plus and charge it. This works with other smartphones like the Huawei Mate 9, HTC 10 and others that use a USB-C connector.

AUKEY USB-C to USB 3.0 Cable

It never hurts to have another USB-C cable with you, and AUKEY has a 5-pack of braided USB-C cables here that are definitely worth picking up. Especially since many smartphones are also coming with USB-C, it makes it almost a no-brainer. This 5-pack includes three 3-foot long cables, along with a 6-foot long and a 1-foot long cable.

Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB-C Cable

If you are interested in getting a typical USB-C to USB-C cable, then Anker has a great one here as well. It’s not braided like the ones above from AUKEY, but still a great choice. This will still allow you to charge your Chromebook, and even connect it to a monitor or your smartphone, provided they use USB-C as well.

Anker USB-C to 3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Ethernet Adapter

This is another great accessory to pick up, especially if you still have some USB 3.0 peripherals. This hub has three USB 3.0 ports, as well as an Ethernet port, so you can plug your Chromebook directly into the router when needed. It’s nice and small, which makes it great for travel and the dongle-life.

Satechi Type-C USB 3.0 3 in 1 Combo Hub

This offering from Satechi is actually made for the Macbook, but it will also work with Chrome OS, as the software treats it the same without any issues. This hub has the normal things like two full-sized USB ports, there’s also another USB-C port, but they have thrown in a full-sized SD card reader and a micro SD card reader. Definitely important for those that use SD cards.

AUKEY USB-C Hub with 4 USB 3.0 Ports

Here’s one more USB-C hub that is worth taking a look at. This one features four USB 3.0 ports, making it easy to plug in other things like a webcam, or a SD card reader, or even a flash drive, to your Chromebook. There’s nothing else included here, just four USB ports, but those are definitely helpful in the world of transitioning from USB Type-A to Type-C.

This sleeve here will be great for traveling with your Samsung Chromebook Plus, as it’ll keep it nice and safe. It is made for the Apple Macbook, but it will work with any laptop or Chromebook that uses a 12-inch display, like the Chromebook Plus. It’s a nice looking sleeve, with plenty of padding inside.

Logitech M510 Wireless Large Mouse

The trackpad on the Chromebook Plus is already pretty good, but sometimes you may want an actual mouse, and well the Logitech M510 is a great one to grab. This one is a wireless mouse with a USB dongle, so there’s no Bluetooth connection here. It’s somewhat small, so it’s great for traveling, and it’s not all that expensive either.
