Alcatel had introduced three budget devices today, the Alcatel A3, Alcatel U5 and Alcatel A5 LED. All of these devices are budget offerings by Alcatel, and the Alcatel A5 LED is arguably the most interesting one, as it comes with a customizable LED back which can light up in various colors when you receive a notification. That being said, we’ve already talked about all of these smartphones, and are here to take a closer look at specs of the Alcatel A3 and Alcatel U5, read on.
Let’s kick things off with the Alcatel A3, shall we. This handset sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. This smartphone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6737 64-bit quad-core SoC running at 1.25GHz, while a 2,460mAh battery is also a part of this package. On the back, the Alcatel A3 sports a 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture, EIS), while a 5-megapixel camera (84-degree wide-angle lens) sits on the front side of this smartphone. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this smartphone, and there are two nano SIM card slots on the inside of this device. The fingerprint scanner is also included here, and Cat. 4 4G LTE connectivity is also possible (B1/3/7/8/20). This smartphone measures 142 x 70.5 x 8.6mm, while we still don’t know how much it weighs.
The Alcatel U5, on the other hand, is the most affordable handset Alcatel introduced today. This smartphone sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6737M 64-bit quad-core chip fuels the device, and is clocked at 1.1GHz. A 2,050mAh battery is included here, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this phone, as it does on the other two Alcatel smartphones the company introduced today. A 5-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of the Alcatel U5, while you’ll find a 2-megapixel snapper on its front side. This smartphone also offers 4G LTE connectivity, Cat. 4 to be exact, and it has support for B1/3/7/8/20. There are two SIM card slots on the inside of this phone, one micro SIM and one nano SIM, while the phone measures 140.7 x 71.8 x 9.95mm.
