Trello's Latest App Update Adds Offline Support

Trello’s latest app update adds offline support so those who use it to collaborate with the rest of their work teams can now get things done through the app even if they don’t have an internet connection. Offline support appears to be a heavily requested feature that many users have been wanting and regardless of the reasons why it may have taken a while to integrate offline use, Trello states that they’re excited to bring the feature to their community of users, and they hope users feel the same way about it being available.

While adding offline support for Trello has taken a while, the Trello team mentions that it also took much longer than they expected which has also caused them to put less polish on other areas of the app, specifically noting that if users have been wondering why the app has felt “lackluster” in the past few builds it’s because they have been devoting nearly all of their time to the offline support feature. With offline support now included and the work to integrate it out of the way, future Trello app updates should begin to include other new features and if the app really felt lackluster as the Trello team suspects, then things should shift back in the opposite direction now as the team will likely have more time to put towards increasing the app’s overall feel.

If you’ve never used Trello before the app is largely focused on work management. It’s meant to be used by teams of people who will need to collaborate on projects, and for that the app offers quite a bit in the way of functionality including the ability assign tasks to workers, add files to projects that are stored in cloud-based services like Dropbox and Google Drive, and add to-do lists or upload photos and videos to be used for your projects and workflows. Trello is also a free app to install and to use and the Trello team seems keen on leaving it that way, which means the offline support really increased the value of what Trello has to offer to their users.
