Urban Armor Gear, also known as UAG, has just listed new cases for the Samsung Galaxy S8 on their official website. We’re looking at UAG’s ‘Plasma’ and ‘Pathfinder’ cases here, and they come in a number of different color variants. These cases actually come with a render of the Galaxy S8, and unofficially confirm some details about the device. UAG has listed four ‘Plasma’ cases and three ‘Pathfinder’ cases on their website, and you can check them all out by taking a look at the gallery down below.
All of these cases seem to be able to handle drops, as they’re not exactly the thinnest offerings out there, plus they have some reinforcement on the edges in order to make sure that the phone is well protected. That being said, if you take a look at either of those cases, you’ll notice that the rumored / leaked ‘Bixby’ button is placed below the volume rocker of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Speaking of which, those buttons are located on the left-hand side of the device, while the phone’s power / lock key is placed on the right. The render that is shown off in the images down below actually resembles a number of Galaxy S8 leaks we’ve seen thus far. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will ship without a physical home button this time around, Samsung’s logo will be placed below the display instead of it, and the phone’s bezels will be quite thin, well, bezels above and below the display will, while the phone will basically sport no bezel on the sides. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will ship with a curved display, and it is even possible that the company has no plans to release a variant with a flat display, at least if rumors are to be believed.
The fingerprint scanner seems to be placed next to the phone’s main camera, which is something we’ve seen in previous leaks. This is quite an interesting choice by Samsung, one would assume they’d place that fingerprint scanner below the camera, especially if the Galaxy S8 will be as large as the rumors claim it will be. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel the Galaxy S8 and its larger sibling, the Galaxy S8 Plus, while both devices will ship with Android Nougat out of the box, and both of them will sport Super AMOLED displays, of course. We still don’t know when exactly will Samsung announce the Galaxy S8, but we know for sure it will not happen during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), which probably means Samsung will announce the Galaxy S8 in late March or early April.
