These are allegedly the first Galaxy S8 promotional images and it seems that leaks of the device are starting to pick up now that Samsung’s Unpacked event is coming up on March 29th and is just 9 days away. Two of the promotional images show the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus side by side which gives a good idea of what the sizes will be like in comparison to each other. The third promotional image looks like it’s showcasing the camera of the device as it shows the phone in landscape mode with a city on the screen with what appears to be the viewfinder, though without any of the actual visual details of the camera software.
While there are only just the three promotional images that show off the design of Samsung’s two upcoming phones, it seems that there was also some detail on the specifications of the devices. The leaked material states that the Galaxy S8 will come with a 5.8-inch display while the Galaxy S8 Plus will have a 6.2-inch display, though both of these screen sizes are specs that have been rumored about the phones for a couple of months now and it’s not exactly new information. Alongside the screen sizes, the leaked details also mention that the screen aspect ratio on both phones will be 18:9 just like on the LG G6 that was announced at Mobile World Congress.
Other mentioned specs include the Snapdragon 835 processor inside to power the computing, though it’s also mentioned that Samsung will use an Exynos 8895 processor for both phones, and will probably be the CPU that is placed inside of both devices that are sold internationally while the U.S. models come with the Qualcomm chipset. For the cameras, the leak details suggest that Samsung is using a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, as well as a 3,000mAh battery for the Galaxy S8 and a larger 3,500mAh battery for the Galaxy S8 Plus. Additionally it’s said that the Galaxy S8 will have 64GB of internal storage while Samsung will use 128GB in the Galaxy S8 Plus, and prices are said to be $800 for the Galaxy S8, while the Galaxy S8 Plus will cost $870. So far these are the first rumored prices it seems for the U.S. cost and it’s worth keeping in mind that these are still just rumors, and actual prices likely won’t be unveiled until the carriers where the devices are being sold are decide to share that information.
