Following Samsung’s unwrapped event earlier today, where the Samsung Galaxy S8 was finally and officially unveiled, AT&T has now come out confirming that it will be carrying the latest Galaxy S8 smartphone when it becomes available. In fact, AT&T has now confirmed that it will be carrying both models, the Galaxy S8 and the larger Galaxy S8 Plus.
In terms of the details, AT&T has now confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be available on AT&T Next for $25 per month on a 30-month basis while the Galaxy S8 Plus will be available for $28.34 per month, also on a 30-month basis. Via AT&T Next Every Year, customers will be able to get the Galaxy S8 for $31.25 or the Galaxy S8+ for $35.42, both prices are relative to a 24-month agreement with eligible service. Those looking to buy outright from AT&T will be able to do so for $750 for the Galaxy S8, and $850 for the Galaxy S8 Plus. In terms of when, AT&T has announced that pre-orders will open on tomorrow on March 30 and will run through until April 21 when both smartphones will become available to buy over the counter at AT&T stores and online via the company’s website. AT&T has also confirmed that any pre-orders made through the carrier will come with a free Samsung Gear VR headset. Customers will also be able to take advantage of other promotions as well, which include up to $750 in credits towards a second Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus smartphone, a Samsung Gear S3 for only $49 (with a 2-year service agreement), or the option to get a Samsung Tab E or Samsung Gear S2 for only $0.99 – also on a 2-year agreement.
Design-wise this is quite a different smartphone compared to previous Galaxy S models, as the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus both comes loaded with a clear focus on the display. Not only is the display curved at the sides, but it is also curved at all four corners, and takes up much of the space on offer with the front panel. Which has resulted in the fingerprint sensor being moved to the back of the handsets. However, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus do come equipped with an iris scanner on the front. So you are not short on added security features and especially when you then factor in the additional security-driven aspects that are on offer. Speaking of Samsung features, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are also compatible with Samsung Pay and also equipped with Samsung’s latest feature, Bixby.
