The Galaxy S8/S8 Plus Sizes Are Compared To Other Flagships

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus sizes are now getting compared to a series of other top flagship devices after having been compared to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sizes just earlier this morning. With this new size comparison, in addition to the sizes of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, other flagships from this year and last year have been added into the mix, including the Pixel and Pixel XL, the LG G6, the Huawei P10, the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy Note 7, and the Huawei Nexus 6P.

While the image below does not show the comparison between the screen to body ratio of each device, it does list off the size dimensions of the phones in general along with screen size, which provides a nice understanding of how the sizes of smartphones have progressed between this year and last year, especially considering the sizes of the displays on both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. More specifically, it provides a better understanding of how Samsung’s upcoming flagships feature larger displays than other flagship smartphones while actually keeping the devices themselves smaller so as to better fit into the hand, which should make them more comfortable to hold as well as easier to use one-handed, though one-handed use will naturally vary from person to person.

If you’re someone who has an interest in the design of smartphones and mobile devices in general, then size comparisons like this one likely hold some value as they also give a look into the choices that were made by the manufacturer design teams, even if they don’t truly provide any insight into why the sizes of the actual device were chosen. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are set to be some pretty big phones when it comes to the display, which makes it all the more impressive when looking at a comparison of the Galaxy Note 7, which has a larger device footprint but less screen real estate. Samsung is scheduled to announce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus at their next Unpacked event which takes place at the end of this month on March 29th.
