Huawei’s Vice President of Handsets Product Line, Bruce Lee, said that the company will probably launch the Huawei P11 at MWC (Mobile World Congress) next year. As many of you know, Huawei had introduced the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus smartphones at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but that wasn’t the case with the Huawei P8 or the Huawei P9. According to Mr. Lee, Huawei always did their best to launch their flagships as early as possible, aiming to launch them by March / April, but they were not able to make that happen with the Huawei P8 and Huawei P9, unfortunately.
According to Huawei’s exec, Huawei always tries to launch the ‘P’ line of devices by March or April in order to kick off sales around Easter in Western Europe. “In the future, we will probably launch the devices at Mobile World Congress,” said Mr. Lee, which doesn’t exactly guarantees that we’ll see the Huawei P11 (and possibly the Huawei P11 Plus) at MWC 2018, but it seems like that’s what Huawei is planning, and chances are they’ll stick to that deadline. Huawei si currently the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, and they’re more than capable of sticking to certain deadlines, they’re actually forced to do so in order to come through for their consumers.
Now, some of you might remember that Huawei launched the Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Plus in London last year, and even though their London events are usually quite successful, MWC is a completely different level, naturally. MWC gives Huawei huge exposure, as it is one of the largest tradeshows of the year, and the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus did get tons of exposure this year, not to mention that Huawei is investing quite a bit of cash in advertising their two new flagship devices. It remains to be seen how well will the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus sell this year, but Huawei managed to crush their previous sales record last year for both ‘P’ devices and smartphones in general, so they’re quite optimistic about this year’s sales. Do not expect the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus to sell as well as Samsung’s ‘Galaxy S’ smartphones, though, that’s unrealistic, but it’s quite possible that the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus will outsell their predecessors.
