Leak: The Samsung Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus In Blue

Another day and another Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus color leak, this time in blue from the front, although not much of the color is exposed. If you pair it up with the picture at the bottom of the article, it appears to be very close to the Blue Coral, first seen on the Galaxy Note 7 and then later added to the Galaxy S7 Edge. It was one of the most popular colors and should continue this trend on the new Galaxy S8/S8 Plus, due to arrive on March 29. In the past, when Samsung released a new device, there would only be basic colors on offer, typically Black, White, and maybe Silver. Months later Samsung would add new and more exciting colors, so it is nice to see them offer so many colors from the start of the campaign. Often, buyers would refrain from purchasing a new Samsung device while they waited for the additional colors. Offering more colors should help initial sales and save many customers the anxiety of waiting.

For the release of the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung started to use the same color on the front of the device as it did on the sides and back, giving the device a nice uniform color scheme. However, from all of the pictures we have seen of the new Galaxy S8, it appears that Samsung went back to the black band at the top and bottom of the device. This color scheme makes it harder to see what color the device is from a straight on view, and, some might argue – takes away from the appearance of the new Galaxy S8. The move could be a result of cost-cutting measures to ensure all of the curved glass fronts are a consistent color and therefore faster to produce.

With only a few days to go until its official announcement, it is likely that more leaks, images and specifications, will come to light. Usually, by the time the device is announced, the facts are already known. While Samsung does like to keep a tight lid on information, leaks such as this are likely to help further fuel excitement and sales.
