LG G6 Pre-Orders Start Tomorrow in Canada, Launching April 7

Since the LG G6 was announced late last month in Barcelona, many people have been wondering when they would be able to get their hands on the device. Well, for the folks up North in Canada, it appears that you’ll be able to begin pre-ordering the LG G6 as soon as tomorrow. However the launch isn’t slated until April 7th. That’s the same launch date that has been floating around for the US.

As far as carrier availability goes, LG has already announced that the G6 will be coming to Bell, Eastlink, Fido, Freedom Mobile, Koodo Mobile, Rogers, SaskTel, Telus, Videotron and Virgin Mobile. On top of these carriers, Best Buy Mobile, Tbooth Wireless, Wireless Wave, Costco Canada and Wow! Mobile Boutique will also be selling the LG G6. None of these retailers nor carriers have actually announced pricing for the new smartphone just yet. But that should be coming very soon.

The LG G6 changed quite a bit from its predecessor, the G5. LG decided to forgo the modularity that was part of the LG G5 last year and mostly just build a really solid smartphone in the G6. They turned to metal for the frame of the G6, and then added a glass back. Of course, they didn’t just go with better materials this year, they also decided to make the screen larger without making the device physically bigger. LG has put a 18:9 aspect ratio display in the G5’s body, basically. Which means you’re getting a rather tall smartphone, but also rather small bezels all the way around. Not quite as small as what the Xiaomi Mi Mix has though.

When it comes to specs, the LG G6 is sporting a 5.7-inch 2880×1440 resolution LCD display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and 4GB of RAM to boot. There is also 32GB of storage which is supplemented by the fact that there is a micro SD card slot available for expanding the storage. There’s also a 3300mAh battery inside that is not removable, but it does support Quick Charge 3.0. Finally, it is running on Android 7.0 Nougat, and like many other smartphones now, it does have the Google Assistant.
