Michelob ULTRA Launches New Alexa Skill To Help Burn Calories

For more than 160 years Anheuser-Busch has captivated beer drinkers all over the world and now with their Michelob ULTRA 95 application and Amazon’s Alexa, they are pushing a new kind of six-pack workout to help keep beer drinkers in shape. Each of the 12 different 10-minute workouts is designed to have your body burn 95 calories – just enough for you to drink another Michelob ULTRA. Rodale Inc. (who Michelob ULTRA partnered with on this) is a health and wellness company that works with fitness experts and certified trainers to develop programs such as ULTRA 95. Contributors to the ULTRA 95 workouts were BJ Gaddour, Fitness Director at Men’s Health, Jen Ator, Fitness Director at Women’s Health, and Budd Coates, Training Director at Runner’s World. The workouts are designed for quick access and to be both effective, yet challenging in helping you burn those 95 calories.

These exercises can be a fun way to get your beer drinking buddies together for a quick workout before the big game – burn off some of those calories before the big game and then have your Michelob ULTRA without guilt, knowing you already worked off the calories. The 12 workouts on the ULTRA 95 Alexa are divided into three categories: Strength, Conditioning, and Flexibility. The Strength category has four workouts – Upper Body, Lower Body, Full Body, and Core. The Conditioning category has five workouts – Fat Loss, High-Intensity Interval Training, Cardio, Tabata, and Warm up/Pre-Run. The last category, Mobility includes three workouts – Yoga, Stretch, and Warm Down/Post-Run. So there is something for everybody looking to stay in shape, burn 95 calories per workout, and maybe drink a couple of beers afterwards.

Azania Andrews, vice president, Michelob ULTRA said, “We recognize that the pursuit of fitness is unique to each consumer and we wanted to deliver a new fitness option that would give our drinkers the flexibility to continue their active, balanced lives.” While there are other beer apps on the market, the ULTRA 95 is a first for Anheuser-Busch using Alexa, but perhaps future applications, such as beer delivery to your front door may be down the road. Anheuser-Busch stresses that these workouts are for those looking for a balanced lifestyle of drinking Michelob ULTRA responsibly, while at the same time willing to put forth a little work to help keep their body in shape.
