Micromax has just introduced a new smartphone in India, the Micromax Dual 5. This is actually a rebranded 360 Q5 smartphone, just in case it looks familiar to you. In any case, the Micromax Dual 5 is a very interesting handset, as it comes with a compelling spec sheet, and it’s not that expensive at all, which seems to be a perfect combination when it comes to the Indian smartphone market.
The Micromax Dual 5 handset is made out of metal, and it sports a dual camera setup on the back, more of which we’ll talk about later on. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of the device, and so is the company’s branding. The Micromax Dual 5 features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this smartphone, along with the Adreno 510 GPU. The device packs in 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage. There are two 13-megapixel shooters on the back of this phone, one is a monochrome sensor, and the other one is an RGB shooter. A 13-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size) is also available on the front side of this smartphone, though it’s inferior to the rear-facing offerings. A 3,200mAh battery (Quick Charge 3.0 included) is included in this package, and it is not removable. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Micromax Dual 5, and there are also two SIM card slots included in this phone, one of which you can use in order to expand the device’s internal storage. Interestingly enough, this device also includes an IR blaster up top, which is always a useful thing to have.
Now, the Micromax Dual 5 comes in a Gold color variant only, while its front side is white, as you can see in the provided image. The phone costs Rs. 24,999 in India, and it will become available starting from April 10th through Flipkart, Micromax Store and offline stores all over India. Micromax also offers a 24-hour service with this smartphone through their Micromax Care App, and you’ll also get a 1-year replacement warranty from the company, which is always a nice option to have, just in case.
