Since LG announced the G6 at Mobile World Congress this past week, many have been wondering how much the brand new smartphone will set them back. Seeing as LG did not announce pricing or even state when the device would be available to purchase. There are still plenty of questions swirling around for potential buyers. But it looks like Mobile Fun has just answered one of those questions, at least for those in the UK. They have the LG G6 available for pre-order right now, and it has a price tag of £699 (or around $874 USD). Unfortunately, Mobile Fun hasn’t stated when pre-orders are expected to ship, however.
This model that Mobile Fun is selling is actually a SIM-Free model (also known as an Unlocked one, elsewhere). So this is the full price for the LG G6, and not subsidized at all, nor is it tied to a carrier. That’s quite the price jump from last year, where we saw Amazon kick off pre-orders of the LG G5 for just £529 SIM-free. There were rumors swirling around that LG was going to bump up the price of the LG G6 this year, but no one knew exactly how far up it would go, and it seems to have taken a pretty big jump. But then again, the LG G6 is a premium looking and feeling device, one that is deserving of a higher price.
LG announced the G6 at Mobile World Congress this past Sunday in Barcelona. With this new smartphone, they decided to get rid of the modularity that they debuted with the LG G5 last year and basically just stick to building a really solid smartphone. It’s no longer an all-metal build, but instead they opted for a metal frame along with a glass front and back. This does mean that the LG G6 is a fingerprint magnet and a bit slippery, but it does look and feel premium. Inside, LG has most of the top-of-the-line specs, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 3300mAh battery, that is non-removable this time around.
