With the news of the Moto G5 Plus being available for pre-order today, and on general sale next Friday, Amazon and Motorola has announced that the Moto G5 Plus is the latest Amazon Prime Exclusive smartphone. Last year, Amazon started offering up discounted unlocked smartphones that are exclusive to Amazon Prime users, with the only difference being the fact that Amazon serves up ads on the lock screen.
The Moto G5 Plus will be available for $184.99 for the 2GB/32GB model, and then the 4GB/64GB model will be priced at $239. That’s $45 and $60 off of the regular price of these models, respectively. The Moto G5 Plus is unlocked, and even the Amazon Prime Exclusive models will work on all four wireless carriers, this includes AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. Just insert your SIM card and you’ll be all set and ready to go. The only difference between these Amazon Prime Exclusive models and the standard Moto G5 Plus is the fact that these have ads on the lock screen. It’s a pretty cool concept, and one that obviously worked well for Amazon and Motorola, after offering up the Moto G4, Moto G4 Play and Moto G4 Plus as Amazon Prime Exclusive models last year.
Specs for the Moto G5 Plus include a 5.2-inch 1080p display, powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor and either 2GB or 4GB of RAM. There is also the option for either 32GB or 64GB of storage, and there is a micro SD card slot that supports up to 256GB, and it does also support Adoptable Storage. There’s a 12-megapixel camera on the back, and along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Motorola has also added a 3000mAh battery that is non-removable, but should last you all day long. Motorola quotes it as lasting 24 hours with mixed usage.
