The Moto G5 Plus is now available for pre-order in the United Kingdom via Carphone Warehouse. Prospective buyers in the UK can pick between two color options and acquire the smartphone unlocked for the price of £249.99. Otherwise, buyers can also pre-order the Moto G5 Plus for £0 down along with a two-year carrier agreement priced at £18.99 per month. As of this writing, Carphone Warehouse expects to ship the Moto G5 Plus to customers by April 4, 2017.
The Moto G5 Plus was first launched in the United States earlier this year on limited exclusivity terms, but it now appears that the limited exclusivity came to an end and the smartphone is expanding its reaches to other regions, including the UK. Nevertheless, spec-wise the Moto G5 Plus offered by Carphone Warehouse is no different. It’s equipped with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 leading to a pixel density of 424 pixels per inch, and the panel is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood resides the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 System-on-Chip (SoC) housing eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, as well as the Adreno 506 graphics chip clocked at a maximum of 650MHz. It should be noted that although the Moto G5 Plus was released in multiple variants with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB of RAM, the British variant of the device features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Moving on, the back of the device accommodates a 12-megapixel camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a two-tone dual-LED flash, whereas the front of the phone carries a 5-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. A fingerprint recognition sensor is embedded within the physical ‘home’ button of the handset which runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Lastly, the package is powered by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with fast charging capabilities and measures 150.2 x 74 x 7.7mm while tipping the scales at 155 grams.
Carphone Warehouse offers the Moto G5 Plus in the UK in two colors and as such, prospective customers can choose between Fine Gold and Lunar Grey flavors. The product page also mentions that the smartphone is available in the UK exclusively through Carphone Warehouse, but it remains to be seen whether this will also be a limited-time exclusivity deal.
