A newly leaked image that just emerged online compares the Galaxy Note 7 with what are said to be the upcoming Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. The image originated from the Chinese social website Weibo and while it didn’t contain a specification comparison, it at least shows the trio of Samsung-made devices side-by-side. If previous leaks are any indication, the new photo is likely an accurate representation of how the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will look like. When the Galaxy Note 7 was introduced, many considered it to be one of the most beautiful smartphones on the market, but even that device looks somewhat ordinary next to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus.
The Galaxy S8 on the left likely has the same 5.7-inch display like the Galaxy Note 7 in the middle, but features smaller bezels, lacks a physical home button, and boasts on-screen buttons. The Galaxy S8 Plus to the right of the Note 7 reportedly sports a 6.2-inch display and looks just as portable as Samsung’s discontinued phablet. The image seemingly confirms previous reports that Samsung committed a lot of resources to creating a flagship device with an impressive screen-to-body ratio as even the larger model doesn’t seem significantly bigger than the Galaxy Note 7 despite packing a much larger display panel.
Regarding hardware specifications, the biggest difference between these three devices will likely be in their system-on-chip as the Galaxy Note 7 used the Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890 in certain regions, while Samsung’s upcoming flagship duo is said to ship with either the new Snapdragon 835 chipset or the Exynos 8895 SoC. Both phones are rumored to pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will both likely sport Super AMOLED QHD panels, retain the IP68 certification of the Galaxy Note 7 and also feature non-removable batteries with wireless charging support. The two devices are also seemingly shipping with the iris scanner that was first used for the Galaxy Note 7. Samsung’s upcoming pair of Android flagships will be unveiled on March 29 and is expected to hit the market in the second half of April.
