The Xiaomi Mi 6’s launch is right around the corner, and some new info just surfaced. The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been leaking for a long time now, and if rumors are to be believed, the device will land either in March or April. That being said, the phone’s sketches leaked a couple of days ago, and now we have some new info regarding its camera, and display variants, as it seems like we’ll get more than one variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6.
According to the new info, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will sport Sony’s IMX400 sensor on the back, this is Sony’s recently announced 3-layer stacked CMOS sensor. This sensor can be found in Sony’s newly-announced Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs devices, and we’re looking at a 19-megapixel snapper here. This snapper comes with an f/2.0 aperture, and we’re looking at a 25mm lens here. All in all, this camera sensor is quite compelling, and with the right software, it can offer truly stunning images. Now, previous rumors mentioned that the Xiaomi Mi 6 might sport Sony’s IMX386 sensor, so take this new info with a grain of salt, as per usual. Now, in addition to the camera info, this new leak says that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will land in two variants, a smaller model will sport a 5.15-inch display, just like the Xiaomi Mi 5, while the larger variant will ship with a 5.7-inch panel. The two phones will look slightly different as well, if the leak is to be believed, which is quite interesting as we’ve expected different Mi 6 variant to sport identical designs, and be different only in the size department. The larger XiaomI Mi 6 model will probably sport two cameras on the back, if the rumor is to be believed.
Now, in addition to all this, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to be 8mm thick, and sport a 3,200mAh battery on the inside, which will not be removable. The regular Mi 6 model will ship with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, according to the provided info, while the larger ‘Plus’ (alleged naming) model will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The Snapdragon 835 SoC will fuel both of these devices, and it will not be underclocked, contrary to what some previous rumors suggested. The Xiaomi Mi 6’s pricing is said to start at 1,999 Yuan ($289), while the ‘Plus’ model is rumored to cost 2,499 Yuan ($360).
