While Samsung is going to be announcing the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus next week in New York City, it appears that they are having a hard time keeping the cover on the device at this point. After seeing numerous leaks of the actual device, now we’re beginning to see plenty of leaks of the accessories that Samsung will be offering for the brand new flagship device. Not to be confused with the number of cases we’ve seen from other manufacturers already. These images, which are courtesy of WinFuture, appears to be taken from Samsung’s European (probably German, since this is a German news site) website, and show the prices in Euros. It also shows a good number of accessories include DeX, which has leaked a number of times already.
What’s interesting in this leak is that there is a new material on some of these cases. Samsung is calling it their Alcantara cases, and it uses soft microfiber fabric (almost looks furry) for the case, which gives the Galaxy S8 a rather unique look, although it is likely not something that everyone will be into, unfortunately. This case is available in a slew of colors as well. There’s also the LED view covers that are available, in multiple colors. These aren’t really new as they are something we’ve seen before with Samsung’s flagships.
Some of the other accessories that are shown here includes – what appears to be a new – wireless charger. Basically confirming that the Galaxy S8 will feature wireless charging. Again, this isn’t a surprise, seeing as Samsung has been including it by default since the Galaxy S6 in 2015. There’s also a portable battery pack, but perhaps the most interesting one is the DeX dock. This has rumored and leaked a few times already, but it is basically a dock with a built-in HDMI connector that users can dock their Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus and connect it to a monitor. It’s still not clear why someone would want too, but Samsung has likely changed the software a bit to give users a reason to do so.
