The Galaxy S8 Plus is expected to be announced on Wednesday, but the device has just leaked once again, thanks to Mexican Android news site, AndroidMX. Now with this leak, there’s really no surprises about the Galaxy S8 Plus. It still appears to sport a tall (18:9 aspect ratio, mostly likely) display, with minimal bezels and what appears to be a curved display as well. We can also see in this leak that Always-On display is still part of the Galaxy S8 Plus, which it likely isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and it does appear that it has been updated a bit. Now this leak does not show the back of the device, but we have already seen plenty of the back of the Galaxy S8 Plus already.
This leak does show different screens within the OS, but since this is coming from a Mexican website, it is all in Spanish, making it a bit difficult to decipher exactly what is on the the Galaxy S8 Plus here. But we do have even more confirmation that Samsung is going to allow users to change the resolution from HD to FHD to WQHD (of course they are all with a “+” sign, because this is indeed a taller display, so the resolution is actually a bit higher, similar to the LG G6 which uses QHD+). We do also see that there are on-screen navigation buttons on this device, although they are still in the same order as we’ve seen on other devices, with the recents on the left and back button on the right, so it’s still unclear whether or not these buttons will be customizable, but it is likely.
Samsung will be announcing the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus at their Unpacked event next week in New York City. This is their first flagship smartphone launch since the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, so you can expect them to come out and apologize for that whole thing, and also spend a great deal of time talking about how they have tested the battery thoroughly, in an attempt to gain their customers’ trust back once again. While we have seen a good number of leaks on the Galaxy S8 Plus already, there is still plenty that is unknown about this device, currently.
