Sponsored Software Review: iSkysoft Toolbox For Android – Recover Android Data, Unlock SIM Card, Root Android & More

When it comes to your Android device there are a number of different things that you can do with it that many overlook. Things such as backing up your data or unlocking your device for use with other carrier SIM cards, which might be important if you like having the freedom of being able to move between carriers if the situation presents itself. There are lots of ways to complete these sorts of tasks but there are also tools which can serve as an all-in-one kit to help you do more than a few things. This makes the whole process easy and fairly quick as you won’t end up having to mess around with a bunch of different apps or software. iSkysoft Toolbox for Android is just such a toolkit that offers up a handful of different functions that can come in handy. Let’s take a look at what it offers though and how it stacks up.

First, before you can start checking out how this toolbox works and whether or not it works for what you need, you’ll need to head to the iSkysoft Toolbox for Android website and install the software onto your laptop or desktop. After a short setup process you’re all set to start using the software.

Since this toolbox has a collective of features, you can start with whatever it is that you’re looking to do, the most common of which might be the data recovery option. If you’ve accidentally deleted something off of your Android device, then you can use the data recovery option in the toolbox to try and get it back. During the process it will try to recover all sorts of data files including contacts, text messages, music, pictures, videos, and other types of files and it will attempt to recover it from both the internal storage and the microSD card if your phone has one installed.

Of course if your phone is damaged and you can’t really interact with the screen but you still need data off the phone that isn’t necessarily lost, then there is another option which could help you to recover some of it and that’s the data extraction tool, which recovers the same types of files but is meant for devices that are broken, like phones with a black screen, phones that are water damaged, or phones where the home key isn’t working just to give a few examples.

If you’re cautious with your data and you like to keep a safe copy of your files and other information, then you can use the backup and restore option to do a routine backup of your phone selectively or wholly, and on the reverse side of things if you need to restore the information back because you got a new phone then this feature can be used for that purpose as well. In addition to backing up your data, you can preview your backup file details if you need to know the last time you backed something up as it will reserve the information of what you backed up and when.

If you need to unlock your SIM card, then this software is capable of doing that for you too but it unfortunately only works with Samsung devices from the Galaxy S II to the Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy Note 1 to the Galaxy Note 3 currently.

You can also get past the lockscreen on your device with this software, but again this only works with a variety of Samsung Galaxy devices and seemingly doesn’t work with other brands, but if you do have a Samsung device it removes passwords, fingerprints, patterns, and PIN numbers.

If you’re worried about privacy with the data on an old device that you might be selling, donating, or ditching, this is where the data eraser tool comes in, as it will thoroughly remove any of your data and wipe the device. Following the completion of erasing all of the data you’re also prompted to do a factory data reset to finalize the process.

This tool also has a root option if you want to root your device, which is something you’ll want to do if you plan to flash any custom ROMs or install custom recovery options.

Lastly, the tool also includes a screen recorder option so you can record the screen of your device, which can be used for recording what it is that you’re doing on your phone, whether that be playing a game or doing a tutorial to show someone how to do something with their device, like modify a setting.

With lots of features the iSkysoft Toolbox for Android can be a useful piece of software to have on your PC, even if you generally only use it for a few of the features. The nice thing is that it offers a lot of functionality and that it’s there in the event that you do need it. Whether you want to recover your data, or back it up, this software is capable of handling the task it would seem, and it’s fairly easy to use.
