These days it’s possible to do plenty of things with your smartphone that you would have normally needed a PC for, which just goes to show how far smartphones have come over the years. That being said, there are still things that can be a lot easier with the help of some desktop software, and a tool like Mobile Trans is something to help with those things. It allows you to do things like backup your device, erase your device contents, and even restore your device, but it’s main function is transferring your data from one phone to another which it boasts can be done regardless of the carrier, make, or model of your smartphone. The software isn’t packed with a bunch of features which is actually great as it doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to do too many things. With that said, let’s dive in and see how Wondershare’s Mobile Trans software tool stacks up.
Before you can actually begin with a backup, restore, or data transfer from device to device, or erase everything if that’s what you need, you’ll have to head to the Wondershare website and download Mobile Trans and install the software on your desktop.
Right from the start you’ll notice how simple Mobile Trans is to use and this is due to the fact that it has a simplistic user interface that isn’t overly cluttered. It’s due to the fact that it only has four different functions. It can transfer data from Android to Android, from Android to iPhone, and from iPhone to iPhone.
During the transfer process you’ll have options to transfer all kinds of information including contacts, messages, photos, videos, music, call logs, apps, and more. You can also transfer app data, although this will require the phone to be rooted for this process. The nice thing is that Mobile Trans has an option to temporarily root your phone for the duration of the transfer, then it unroots and goes back to normal without voiding the warranty.
If you’re restoring from a backup there are multiple options for you to choose here in regards to where you restore from. Meaning that you can choose to restore from a Mobile Trans backup, or from a backup that you have stored in places like OneDrive, iCloud, Keis, BlackBerry, or iTunes.
For the backup process, everything will be transferred from your mobile device over to the desktop that it’s connected to, and you’ll be able to choose the same kinds of data that you can for the transfer between phones, which is contacts, messages, photos, videos, apps, and others. Depending on how much stuff you’re backing up the process can be shorter or longer, though in my experience it didn’t take too long for a decent amount of stuff. However, users shouldn’t expect it to be done in a minute or two if they’re transferring literally everything that they can and that the software allows.
The last thing that Mobile Trans is capable of is erasing all of the data off your device. With this function Mobile Trans gives you the option to do a factory reset or do a “professional clean” which it states should be used if you have private information that you want wiped. In most cases you will probably have some of this type of information on your phone, so your best bet might be to do the factory reset and the professional clean just to be safe.
When it comes down to it Mobile Trans is a simple yet effective tool that will do as it was designed to do. While there are numerous ways to backup data that’s on your phone to the cloud, or erase things manually off your device by doing a factory reset, if you want a little bit of extra help with the process so you don’t have to fiddle around with these things on the device, Mobile Trans makes the process pretty simple and it doesn’t take long in most cases to complete any of the tasks.
