T-Mobile, today announced that they are going to begin selling LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G6, on April 7th. That was the date that had been floating around the rumor mill for quite a few weeks now, and T-Mobile has made it official. It was reported yesterday that LG would be offering up a free Google Home (a $129 value) for everyone that orders a LG G6 by April 30th, and T-Mobile is also promoting that offer.
The LG G6 will be available on April 7th, there’s no mention of any type of pre-orders available here unfortunately. The LG G6 will cost you $26 per month for 24 months and $26 down. That comes out to a price of $650, when everything is said and done. That’s about what many people were expecting the LG G6 to cost, so there’s not much in terms of surprises there. The LG G6 sports a 5.7-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. LG has included a micro SD card slot, allowing you to expand the storage by up to 256GB. There is also a 3300mAh battery inside, which is now non-removable, so that means you won’t be able to pop out the battery and pop in a new one. The LG G6 is also the first non-Google phone to ship with Google Assistant out-of-the-box, even though it is now available on most Marshmallow and Nougat-powered smartphones.
If you order the LG G6 by April 30th, you’re eligible for a free Google Home. For those that are unaware, Google Home is the search giant’s competitor to the Amazon Echo. It was announced last year, and costs around $129. The Google Home has Google Assistant built-in (so you’ll have two devices with the Google Assistant), and it can control your smart home, you can ask it questions, and so much more. The Google Assistant is getting better each day, with more functionality constantly being added to it. For those looking to pick up a LG G6, this is a great offer, especially if you don’t have a Google Home already (and if you do, you can give it to someone or simply sell it).
