Mobile World Congress 2017 is over and there was a whole lot of new mobile devices that came out of the event to look forward to. Some were more impressive than others but there were a handful of pretty interesting reveals, from smartwatches to tablets, to smartphones, which is to be expected as it is a conference about mobile devices. The biggest announcement might very well have been the LG G6, as it was the largest flagship to be announced since Samsung didn’t announce the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. This gave LG plenty of room to stay in the limelight as long as possible for the event and they did so with enthusiasm and confidence. From the start the LG G6 has shaped up to be a great looking device and could very well be the smartphone of choice for those looking towards the high-end for their next smartphone.
Beyond the LG G6, though, there was another impressive phone to be observed, and this was Huawei’s offering, the P10. Following up their P9 from last year, the P10 oozes great design and is available not only in a pretty decent number of color options, but some of those colors even have a striking pattern on the back that Huawei refers to as Hyper Diamond Cut, which you can see if you look close enough on the back of the device. Huawei continued their partnership with Leica on the P10 as well to provide a dual rear camera experience that features an RGB sensor and a monochrome sensor, so photography enthusiasts are sure to appreciate it. Of course, Huawei also announced the Huawei Watch 2 at the event, which is their next entry into the world of smartwatches and their next entry into the Android Wear market.
Samsung may not have shown off the Galaxy S8, but they did announce the Galaxy Tab S3, and this is one great looking tablet that comes with a brand new S Pen, an extremely thin design and lightweight feel, and it supports HDR content so you can get the most out of your entertainment experience when the content itself is also HDR. When it comes to Sony, they actually had a lot to show off, just as they did last year, but the star of the show for them is the Xperia XZ Premium, a device with a shiny, mirror-like finish that sports HDR support and a plethora of great hardware specifications. Then of course there was Lenovo with the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus, both of which are set to be front runners in the mid-tier device market with their competitive pricing and specs. The question is, of all the things that were announced, which did you find the most exciting?
