The LG G6 has now officially been announced now that Mobile World Congress is over and the phone will be launching in the near future as the phone is set for release on April 7th. Of course, pre-orders for the device are already available on AT&T and will be available from other carriers and retailers soon as well, so you can technically already buy the phone you just won’t have it in your hands until the launch date. While there is still a lot to know about the LG G6 in terms of everyday extended use, all of the phone’s biggest and best features have been laid out in the open and paint a picture of a promising device.
For instance, the Square Camera that lends itself well to taking the perfect shots for Instagram. While this particular camera mode is more than just Instagram-ready photos when it comes to the sizing of the image, that is sure to be one of its main draws. It’s also good for ensuring that you got the shot you wanted though as it provides you with a preview side by side with the view finder, meaning you can easily see if your picture wasn’t quite what you wanted and just grab another one before exiting out of the camera.
Beyond the Square Camera mode, the LG G6 is also equipped with plenty of high-end specs, like the Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, a large 5.7-inch Quad HD+ screen and a 3,200mAh battery. It’s also carrying a stylish new design that LG was able to keep compact enough to make it easy to use with one hand without compromising the display size. For the media lovers, the G6 also supports Dolby Vision HDR which means that you’ll be able to watch some amazing quality video, provided that you have access to HDR content. The LG G6 may have stiff competition to go up against once more of the big flagships launch, but since it launches earlier than the likes of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, it stands a chance of grabbing some consumer market share.
