Xiaomi is set to launch a new TV on March 21st, and this came to light after the company posted a teaser image on its online store in China. The teaser image depicts a young boy, who is dressed in a Superman inspired costume, though the iconic “S”, has been replaced with an “A”. This image is accompanied by a title which says, “Plan A”. Xiaomi also states in the image that a new Mi TV product will be launching on March 21st, and that this is the first of many teasers. The Chinese company will be releasing one teaser image each day, until March 20th, making it a total of five teaser images by then.
The small child pointing towards the sky may be a hint that the Chinese company is gearing to launch a Mi TV which will be small in size and marketed to the younger generation. As it is with every Xiaomi product, it will likely be packing high-end features, and will also be priced very competitively. While it hasn’t been launched yet, the product is already available for pre-order, and Xiaomi is running a promotion, whereby you’ll receive a 100 Yuan discount if you pre-order the product. On top of that, each person who pre-orders the yet to be launched product, will be entered into a lucky draw which will be taking place on March 21st. Many prizes are on offer, and this includes the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, which is an upgraded version of the original Redmi Note 4.
Xiaomi is widely known throughout the world for its smartphones, which pack high-end specs and are sold at very reasonable prices, though it has been steadily losing market share over the last year. However, in its home country of China, the company has been gaining popularity for its smart home ecosystem, or better known as the Mi Home Ecosystem. Xiaomi’s smart home product lineup consists of many devices, including smart TVs, rice cookers, air purifiers, security cameras, and even a robot vacuum. Lately, the company has even launched a walkie talkie and also a smart ukulele called the Populele.
