Anker has announced their latest battery pack in the PowerCore lineup, the PowerCore+ 26800 PD. This is a USB-C powered battery pack that will charge devices like the Nintendo Switch in record time, and without having to be connected to a power outlet. So it’s great for playing the Switch while on the road. It will also work with laptops like the MacBook Pro and Chromebook Pixel, but it’s not quite at the same speed as the included charger. Anker said that they designed this battery pack to “be compatible with as many USB-C Power Delivery devices as possible” working to make it an overall solution.
As you can probably tell by the name, the PowerCore+ 26800 has a capacity of 26800mAh which is more than enough to charge your smartphone a couple of times, if not close to ten times. But it’s also enough to charge things like the Nintendo Switch, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, and iPad Pro a couple of times before it needs to be recharged itself. For those wondering, the USB-C Power Delivery Output is 5V=3A, 9V=3A, 15V=2A, 20V=1.25A. While the USB-A is simply 5V/3A. Lately, a big talking point for batteries has been the tests it has gone through before being launched, and the PowerCore+ 26800 is no different. It has gone through numerous tests to make sure that the battery is safe. They have also released a number of charging times for popular devices being charged with their included charger vs the PowerCore+ 26800.
