The Galaxy S8 Plus prototype with a dual camera setup on the back surfaced at the beginning of this month, and now we get to see that phone yet again. Images that surfaced earlier this month weren’t particularly good, but this time around we get to see really clear real life shots of the Galaxy S8 Plus prototype with a dual camera setup on the back, along with its whole back side. As you can see, the phone’s heart rate sensor and an LED flash are placed below the dual camera setup, and interestingly enough, the two cameras are aligned vertically and are centered in the middle, they’re not pushed to the side.
Now, the front side of the device also surfaced, and that part seems to be identical to the one that actually got released. You’ll notice that a fingerprint scanner is not placed on the back of this phone, or the front either, as Samsung originally planned to include a fingerprint scanner below the phone’s display, but they did not have enough time to implement that in partnership with Inventec, at least that’s what recent reports have been saying. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus would be even more interesting to buyers if they sported a dual camera setup on the back and an in-display fingerprint scanner, but it seems Samsung will have to wait until next-gen Galaxy S devices arrive before they implement something like that, unless the company opts to include both the dual camera setup and an in-display fingerprint scanner in the Galaxy Note 8 later this year, which is possible.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus had been announced at the end of last month, and have been available for a pre-order for quite some time now. The two devices will become available really soon, and it seems like quite a few consumers are interested in getting one of the two phones from Samsung. This Korea-based company managed to rake in 600,000 pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 (Plus) in only a couple of days of pre-order availability in their homeland, and that number rose significantly in the following days. All in all, it seems like the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus might outsell the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but it’s way too early to make such assumptions, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
