Xiaomi had introduced their Xiaomi Mi 6 flagship yesterday, but the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus was not launched, despite the fact rumors and leaks have been saying that it is coming. Well, it seems like the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus is on the way after all, but Xiaomi opted not to introduce it next to the regular Mi 6 variant for some reason. According to Pan Jiutang’s post on Weibo (Chinese social network), the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus will be announced in the next two months. For those of you who don’t know, Pan Jiutang is actually an industry analyst who is located in China, and tends to share such info with the public quite often, actually.
Mr. Jiutang did not share any additional spec info when it comes to the phone, he only said that the device will sport a larger display than the Xiaomi Mi 6. Now, luckily for us, a ton of rumors and leaks surfaced in the last couple of weeks, so we pretty much know what to expect. If the provided info is to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus will essentially be a larger variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6, but it will remain the design of Xiaomi’s already-announced flagship, and also most of its specifications. The only spec difference will be the phone’s display, its battery size and perhaps RAM and storage counts, but we’ll see. In any case, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus is expected to sport a 5.7-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) or QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of native storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core CPU will probably fuel the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus, and the Adreno 540 GPU will be here for graphics rendering. Two 12-megapixel snappers will be placed on the back of the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus, and Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the device with the company’s MIUI 8 OS.
Now, on top of all that, a 4,500mAh battery had also been mentioned in various rumors thus far, and fast charging will also be included in the package. An 8-megapixel camera will be available on the device’s front side, most probably, and the phone will be made out of metal and glass. You can also expect to see a front-facing fingerprint scanner here, and two capacitive buttons will flank it, same as on the Xiaomi Mi 6.
