South Korean tech company LG Electronics has started accepting pre-bookings for its latest flagship smartphone in India. The LG G6, which will be launched officially in the country next Monday, can be pre-booked on the company’s official website, as well as at authorized offline retailers around the country. The device is expected to be priced between Rs. 53,000 ($820) and Rs. 54,000 ($835) according to a leak earlier this week from Mumbai-based electronics retailer Mahesh Telecom. Meanwhile, LG has announced a number of interesting offers for people pre-booking the all-new Galaxy S8 competitor. LG is offering 50% off on the LG Tone Active+ HBS-A100 wireless headset as well as a flat cashback of Rs. 5,000 ($75), both of which will be valid until the end of May. The company is also offering an additional Rs. 2,000 ($35) cashback for pre-bookings before May 1.
LG is also offering a number of premium software titles for free along with its latest flagship smartphone. The company has announced that it will give away at least 6 Android games worth Rs. 14,100 ($220) from EA Sports with the LG G6. The list includes popular titles, like Temple Run 2, Spider-Man Unlimited and Crossy Road. As for the device itself, it will be offered in India in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Mystic White colors. The device was originally unveiled at the Mobile World Congress trade show earlier this year at Barcelona, and comes with a significantly more mainstream design philosophy when compared to its predecessor, the LG G5. Either way, now that LG is already accepting pre-bookings for the G6, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to start shipping out these devices to their rightful owners.
The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD FullVision display that comes with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. The device also comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of built-in storage, depending on the model. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC, which comes with a 64-bit CPU with four custom Kryo cores, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. The primary camera module on the back of the handset comes with a couple of 13-megapixel sensors, while a single 5-megapixel shooter can be found on the front. A 3,300mAh non-removable battery keeps the lights on, while Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed with LG’s UX 6.0 user interface on top.
