Several new real-life images depicting what’s said to be the upcoming Moto X (2017) have surfaced online on Wednesday. The device shown in the two photographs that can be seen above seems mostly identical to a couple of older leaks of the same handset, both of which emerged in late March. Apart from a dual camera setup located on the rear plate of the handset, the supposed Moto X (2017) also sports a 3.5mm audio jack and a regular Micro USB port at the bottom of its case, the source of the images states, though neither claim can be verified by the newly leaked photographs. One detail that’s suggested by the new set of photos is that the Lenovo-owned company is apparently planning to ship at least one variant of the device sporting 4GB of Samsung-made RAM, as evidenced by the image depicting a bootloader of the device.
This particular model of what’s said to be the Moto X (2017) also sports 32GB of storage space, which is in line with previous reports about the handset. However, industry sources have so far only claimed that the upcoming device will ship with 3GB of RAM, so it’s currently unclear whether they were wrong or whether the Moto X (2017) will be offered in two versions with different amounts of RAM. Given recent industry trends, the latter scenario seems somewhat probable. Regarding other notable features, the Moto X (2017) apparently boasts a standard fingerprint scanner on its front panel and its front-facing camera is equipped with a flash unit.
According to previous reports about the handset, the Moto X (2017) will sport a 5.5-inch display and be powered by the Snapdragon 625 system-on-chip, Qualcomm’s efficient mid-range chipset. Unlike many recent Moto-branded smartphones, the Moto X (2017) likely won’t support Moto Mods, as none of the images depicting the device so far have shown any evidence of VBUS pins. While there’s still no word on when the Moto X (2017) might hit the market, a recent certification issued by the Federal Communications Commission suggested that the upcoming smartphone will definitely be released in the United States at some point in the future. More details about the device are expected to follow later this year.
