The latest update for the Android version of Super Mario Run started rolling out on the Google Play Store on Monday and should now be available for download worldwide. The new software package brings Nintendo’s first mobile Mario game up to the version 2.1.0 and adds a wide variety of content to this auto-runner in the process. As of this update, the limit of Toads that can inhabit your digital Mushroom Kingdom goes up to 99,999, meaning players who have been striving to further develop their virtual playground now have a lot more options of doing so, especially since the increased Toad limit is accompanied by a broad range of new buildings that can be purchased and placed around your picturesque city.
Another notable feature that debuted with Super Mario Run update 2.1.0 is the support for Google Play Games achievements that will provide avid gamers and Mario fans with yet another reason to come back to this title. It seems that support for achievements has been in the works since Super Mario Run initially launched on the Google Play Store in late March seeing how the game automatically unlocks all of the achievements you’ve already earned as soon as you open it for the first time following the latest update. Furthermore, the new update for Nintendo’s auto-runner debuts some improvements to player icons that can now be replaced with your Miitomo’s Mii characters. Naturally, this feature only works in regions where Miitomo is officially available for download. Finally, the latest version of Super Mario Run allows you to easily connect with your friends in the game by using your Nintendo Account. Nintendo’s changelog also mentions a number of other tweaks and improvements which presumably refers to bug fixes, though the Japanese video game company didn’t provide more details on the matter.
Just like before, players looking to try Super Mario Run can download the game free of charge, though they’ll be asked to pay a one-time fee of $9.99 if they want to access all of the content this title has to offer. Despite rolling out several updates for Super Mario Run in the last month, Nintendo has yet to disclose whether it’s planning to add more levels to its mobile game in the future.
