The BlackBerry KEYone may not officially be on sale until the end of next month, but it was just confirmed yesterday what the date was that BlackBerry was planning to launch the new smartphone. That day is May 31st for both the U.S. and Canada. Now that the availability information is out in the open consumers who are looking for a phone upgrade will need to start considering whether or not they’ll be upgrading to the BlackBerry KEYone next month after it goes on sale, or if they’ll simply go for something that is already available, like LG and Samsung’s recently launched flagship smartphones. The BlackBerry KEYone was officially unveiled during Mobile World Congress back in February, and for BlackBerry it’s another return to a smartphone with the familiar tactile feel of those physical keys on the keyboard, though you’re still able to forego this keyboard if you wish and use the on-screen one.
That being said the physical keyboard has it’s benefits. Not only can you type with it but it has a touch sensor embedded into it so you can use gestures for completing certain functions, like scrolling on the display without actually having to touch the display with your fingers, or deleting words from a message by sliding your finger across it. If you hate fingerprints and smudges then the KEYone is able to help with that.
The KEYone is also a decently equipped smartphone that has some pretty powerful specifications. It’s not sporting the most powerful processor on the market like the Galaxy S8, but it doesn’t need to either. The KEYone is a stable device that feels buttery smooth in day to day use and when multi-tasking, so for those who just want a smartphone that works really well and offers up some great features, like a nice camera and a stellar physical keyboard to work with, BlackBerry’s latest device is one to consider. The question is are you considering the BlackBerry KEYone as your next phone? It truly does have lots to offer but it’s definitely better suited for someone who isn’t looking for the gaming powerhouse in their pocket. While it can play games, it’s more well-equipped to be a communication tool first with some extra perks up its sleeves.
