The Alcatel 5085c has hit the FCC recently and this could be Alcatel’s upcoming A5 LED phone. While the documents in the FCC filing don’t actually mention anything about this being the A5 LED, this is an Alcatel device, and judging by the camera and LED flash placement in the top left corner, it looks quite a bit like the A5 LED that was announced and shown off by Alcatel back during Mobile World Congress in February which can be seen in the image above for comparison.
While the A5 LED does appear to have run through the FCC at this point now, there is still no detail on pricing or availability. Alcatel has yet to publicly share any information regarding launch regions or when the phone will go on sale, through what retailers, and how much it’ll cost. The image below is also the only useful detail that can really be picked up from the FCC filing as the rest of the information contained within the documents seems to be limited to test reports with no details on specs or hardware, which means for now the picture is the only piece of evidence that the A5 LED is closer to a launch.
That being said, Alcatel was forthcoming with information about the A5 LED back at MWC. The Alcatel A5 LED comes with a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, and it’ll be powered by MediaTek chipset, specifically the MT6753 octa-core processor. It will also have 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space though it will be expandable with a Micro SD card for those that need more than 16GB of storage on their device. It has a 2,800mAh battery on the inside of the device and will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out o the box, and for the cameras it’s carrying an 8-megapixel sensor on the back with an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video chat. As mentioned above there is no confirmation that the FCC filing is for the A5 LED, but the rear camera would suggest that it is which means Alcatel could be preparing to announce a launch date at some point in the near future.
