The Essential Phone landed yesterday, and Essential’s CEO, Andy Rubin, just showed off this smartphone during Code Conference 2017. Essential released quite a bit of info yesterday on its official website, while The Verge also exclusively shared some info, but we have all been waiting for Andy Rubin to take the stage and starts talking about the device. The company’s CEO actually released quite a bit of additional info during his talk at Code Conference, and he also showed off the phone in person, and these are the first real life images of the device that we have access to, read on.
If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll be able to see the device in person. The Essential Phone is a really nice-looking smartphone which resembles the Xiaomi Mi MIX from the front, and comes with very little bezel altogether. The phone is made out of titanium and ceramic, while it comes with a small chin below the display, but that’s it as far as bezels go, even though the top of the phone looks kind of unusual due to the front-facing camera which breaks the display line up top. In any case, the fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of this smartphone, and there you’ll also find a dual camera setup, LED flash, noise canceling microphone and two POGO pins which will let you connect this phone to Moto Mod-like accessories. Andy Rubin actually showed off the company’s 360-degree camera which attaches to the device as well, while Mr. Rubin gave us a look at two color variants of the Essential Phone, Black Moon and Pure White models.
The Essential Phone will start shipping next month, Mr. Rubin confirmed, and the device is currently available for a pre-order on the company’s official website, just in case you’re interested. The Essential Phone sports a 5.71-inch 2460 x 1312 display, while it comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, and it packs in a 3,040mAh battery on the inside. There are two 13-megapixel shooters on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the front side of this smartphone.
