Gionee Announces The S10 Flagship, S10B Mid-Ranger & S10C

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Gionee on Friday announced its latest smartphone lineup consisting of the S10 flagship, S10B mid-ranger, and the S10C entry-level handset, thus confirming recent reports that it’s working on several Android-powered devices.

The Gionee S10 boasts a 5.5-inch display panel with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixel and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25, a 64-bit system-on-chip (SoC) with eight cores clocked at 2.5GHz and the Mali-T880 GPU. The device sports 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash memory that’s expandable by up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. Apart from a hybrid dual SIM slot, the handset boasts a dual camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel one, as well as a dual-LED, dual-tone flash unit. The front side of the device also houses a dual camera configuration comprised of a 20-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel one. The Gionee S10 is powered by a 3,450mAh battery that isn’t removable, features a fingerprint scanner integrated into its physical Home button, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, enhanced with the company’s proprietary Amigo OS. The device is available in Dark Black, Cherry Gold, Primrose Green, and Indigo Blue, with all of its variants being priced at 2,599 yuan, which translates to approximately $378.

The Gionee S10B is similar to its high-end counterpart in many aspects, though it ships with the 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 SoC and 4GB of RAM, as well as a primary dual camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel one, while its top bezel houses a 16-megapixel lens. The device is powered by a 3,700mAh battery and is priced at 2,199 yuan, or around $320. Finally, the Gionee S10C may be advertised as an entry-level device but it still sports some respectable specs, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 427, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal flash memory, and a 3,100mAh battery. The handset features a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720) display panel, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 16-megapixel front sensor. It’s available in the same colors like its more powerful siblings and is priced at 1,599 yuan, i.e. $233. It remains to be seen whether either of the three devices will be officially released outside of China, but more details on the matter will likely be revealed shortly.
