Google Wallpapers App Updated With More Choices

The Wallpapers app from Google has received a major update that includes a large number of new wallpapers. These wallpapers can be used to give a boost to your smartphone’s tired look on a daily basis. Google Pixel and Pixel XL owners have been able to enjoy this app right out of the box, while the app can be downloaded to other Android-powered smartphones via the Google Play Store. Beautiful photos which were sourced from various Google sources, such as Google+ and Google Earth, among other partners, will add more variety to any standard issue smartphone background. The free Wallpapers app enables users to experience a change in their smartphone’s background each day, as a new wallpaper image will be sent to your handset every 24 hours.

The existing categories of Earth, Landscapes, Life, Textures, and Cityscapes will see the inclusion of these new wallpapers. As an added incentive for those who own an Android 7.0 Nougat-powered handset or newer, the updated app will allow you to use one wallpaper as the lock screen, while a different wallpaper will be shown off on the home screen. This feature is already available in other customized versions of Android such as Xiaomi’s MIUI, so it is nice to see other Android devices can enjoy the same feature. When it comes to security, two permissions are required for the Wallpapers app. Google would require permission to access your device’s Storage so that custom photos can be used as a wallpaper, and the same requirement is applicable where Photos/Media/Files access is concerned. This Wallpapers app from Google is compatible on smartphones that run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or newer, which will cover 98 percent of the entire Android market based on the most recent statistics from Google.

Professionally shot photos are always nice to look at, and these have been optimized to fit onto your high resolution smartphone display for added convenience. Gone are the days where you need to travel far and wide in order to capture the perfect shot before cropping it to fit your smartphone display’s resolution. With Google’s updated Wallpapers app (version 1.1.153125266), you will be able to enjoy a brand new scene every day, without fail.
