Google‘s new Weebly partnership is helping to expand Android Pay support to online merchants, making the mobile payment platform that much more accessible and viable of an option for consumers when going to checkout and pay for their goods and services when shopping online. Since this partnership is between Google and Weebly, the payment support expansion is only relative to Weebly eCommerce sites, and while Weebly’s reach may span a fair amount of retail locations online the announcement doesn’t mention which eCommerce sites those are, so consumers seem to be left with figuring that part out on their own .
Weebly says that more than 40% of their customers are shopping through smartphones or tablets, so presumably this is a move that simply made sense, and with that percentage of their customers using mobile devices reaching nearly half, it seems that the time was right to get the Android Pay integration up and running, and chances are that those who shop on Weebly eCommerce sites will be thankful for it as Android Pay makes online shopping a whole lot easier than before the mobile payment platform was available.
In addition to the inclusion of Android Pay as a payment method on all of their online stores, Weebly is also integrating Google’s payment request API for a much faster checkout process altogether when paired with Android Pay as an option for payment. According to Weebly, with these new changes customers will be able to complete a transaction at checkout rather quickly, boasting that it will only take five seconds to check out and finish the transaction. That’s fast to be sure, and it’s a good thing for Weebly as they also mention that a big reason why shoppers decide not to go through with an online purchase is because the checkout process takes to long and/or is too complicated. With these changes, Weebly is looking to make the shopping and checkout process as simple as possible so that customers have a more enjoyable experience when shopping at any of their online eCommerce sites. While not available just yet, Weebly says that Android Pay integration with their online stores will begin within the next few weeks, although merchants will need to initiate some of the process.
