After it leaked several times thus far, the Honor 9 got certified by TENAA, which is China’s equivalent to the FCC. Considering this info comes from TENAA, it is rather accurate, and we not only get to look at the phone’s spec sheet, but also its design. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you will be able to see that the Honor 9 is made out of metal and glass, just like its predecessor, but unlike its predecessor, it comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner, just like the Huawei P10 and the Huawei P10 Plus. The company’s branding is placed on the back of the device, and the back side of the phone is curved on the sides, the phone looks considerably different than its predecessor.
That being said, this listing dates back to the beginning of this month, but it’s now making round, it did not surface earlier. The Honor 9 is coming with a really compelling spec sheet, as expected. Two different listings of this phone popped up on TENAA, one variant of the device comes with 4GB of RAM, while the other one packs in 6GB of RAM on the inside. Other than that, these two handsets are completely identical. The Honor 9 features a 5.15-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 64GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). The phone is fueled by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.4GHz, and we’re almost certainly looking at Huawei’s Kirin 960 64-bit octa-core processor, which is fueling the Huawei Mate 9, Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus handsets. This handset sports a dual camera setup on the back, 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel shooters are placed back there, and a single 8-megapixel camera can be found on its front side. A 3,100mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it is not removable.
Android 7.0 Nougat will come pre-installed on the Honor 9, if TENAA is to be believed, and on top of it, you’ll get Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.0 skin. The device will be available in a Gold color option only, says TENAA, though that’s probably not accurate info, as we do expect the Honor 9 to launch in a number of color options, just like the Honor 8. The phone measures 147.3 x 70.9 x 7.45mm, while it weighs 155 grams. The Honor 8 was announced back in July last year, and the Honor 9 will probably land in June or July this year, so stay tuned.
