Honor has announced the A2 fitness band which comes complete with a heart rate sensor integrated into the tracker portion of the unit. The new fitness tracker appears to come in four different color options allowing consumers to personalize their choice with the color that best fits their tastes. These colors include a black, red, yellow, and white options. The band of the A2 looks to be made of a silicone type material and features a snap clasp that is pretty common with most trackers, and there’s a 0.96-inch OLED display for users to glance at activity stats as well as the time.
Like many of the fitness trackers that are available out there the Honor Band A2 will be able to track various types of activities including sleep, running, walking, steps, and even bicycle rides with the added benefit of showing real-time data that updates as you ride. It’s also compatible with both Android and iOS devices so naturally it can be used with an Honor device if you have one, or any other Android device.
For the specs besides the display, the Honor Band A2 is IP67 rated against dust and water resistance, and it has a 95mAh battery that boasts up to nine days of battery life which is a fairly long time to go without having to worry about charging it. What’s more is that Honor says it has about 18 days of standby time so if you aren’t always wearing it you can rest assured that it will have some battery life left if it’s still within that time frame. Although the main functionality will be for tracking activities it still allows notifications from your connected smartphone to come through so you won’t miss emails, calls, messages or any notifications that happen to pop up. There’s no mention of a U.S. release at this point, so consumers in the U.S. who are interested in the Honor Band A2 may have to find an alternative or try to import one. It will go on sale in China on June 9th, and will cost 199 Yuan, making this a pretty affordable tracker when compared to the likes of Fitbit, Garmin, and Samsung’s options.
