The HTC U 11 leaked again ahead of its official release, with HTC’s upcoming smartphone making an appearance in a video that’s almost three and a half minutes long. The latest sighting of the device corroborates numerous previous leaks and reports about the handset, indicating that the HTC U 11 will feature a technology that the Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer refers to as Edge Sense – pressure-sensitive case edges that users will be able to squeeze in order to perform certain actions. Likewise, the design of the device boasts rounded corners, a physical Home button with an integrated fingerprint scanner, and a single-lens rear camera setup coupled with a dual LED flash, the video reveals, thus confirming previous leaks. Finally, the phone’s latest appearance suggests that the Taoyuan, Taiwan-based tech giant will be offering the HTC U 11 in at least five colors – black, white, blue, red, and light purple. The entire video depicting the upcoming Android flagship can be seen beneath this writing.
According to previous reports, the HTC U 11 will sport a 5.5-inch display panel which will support resolutions of up to 2560 by 1440 pixels, with the screen of the device being protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC), the first piece of Silicon from the San Diego-based chipmaker that was manufactured using the 10nm process. Apart from the high-end SoC, the HTC U 11 will also rely on 6GB of RAM, older leaks have suggested. The flagship is expected to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f/1.7 and support for UltraSpeed AF, as well as a 16-megapixel front sensor with f/2.0 aperture. HTC’s proprietary BoomSound is also said to be integrated into the HTC U 11 that’s expected to support 3D audio recording, just like the HTC U Ultra did. The device will reportedly be powered by a 3,000mAh battery compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 and will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, coupled with the company’s Sense user interface.
The HTC U 11 is scheduled to be officially unveiled in HTC’s home country tomorrow, May 16, so details on its availability and pricing will likely follow soon.
