HTC had introduced their HTC U11 flagship earlier this month, and the device is now making its way to China. The HTC U11 is now listed on the company’s official website in China, in both 64GB and 128GB storage variants, along with price points. The 64GB storage variant is priced at 4,599 Yuan ($670), while the 128GB storage model costs a whopping 5,988 Yuan ($873). This doesn’t exactly make the HTC U11 one of the more affordable flagships in the country, but it’s certainly more affordable than both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus, which are quite pricey in general, and their pricing in China is even higher.
The HTC U11 was announced in five color variants at launch, though it seems like only three of them are available in China, the Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue and Amazing Silver. The HTC U11 is the most powerful smartphone HTC ever announced, and it comes with something HTC calls ‘Edge Sense’. This technology essentially lets you squeeze the sides of the HTC U11 in order to trigger certain actions on the phone, like launch the camera, for example. This feature is customizable on the device itself, you can even set up the squeeze intensity necessary in order to activate this feature, just so that you don’t activate it by accident. The HTC U11 is made out of metal and glass, and it comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The HTC U11 is considerably larger than its predecessor, mainly because it comes with a larger display, a 5.5-inch panel.
The HTC U11 features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, while it also comes with the Adreno 540 GPU for graphics. A 12-megapixel snapper can be found on the back of this phone, and it’s quite compelling, at least according DxOMark and sample images that we’ve seen thus far. Android 7.1 Nougat comes out of the box on the HTC U11, and on top of it, you’re getting HTC’s Sense UI. A 3,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable, in case you were wondering.
