The Huawei Y3 2017 is now official, following several leaks which surfaced in the last couple of weeks. Now, some of you might have already assumed that we’re looking at an entry-level smartphone here, and you’re right, this is Huawei’s budget offering, as were its predecessors. Now, for those of you who do not know, this is a successor to the Huawei Y3 II which was announced last year, though Huawei decided to go with a different naming this time around, which might be a good idea, as the Huawei Y3 III name would probably be quite confusing for consumers.
Huawei silently launched this device, as it is currently listed on the company’s global website. The Huawei Y3 2017 comes in black, white, blue, gray, gold and pink color variants, and all of its physical keys are located on the right. The company’s branding is present both on the front and back sides of this smartphone and the device sports a rear-facing loudspeaker. Its rear-facing camera protrudes a bit, and next to it you’ll notice an LED flash. Now, as far as specs are concerned, this phone sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. This device comes in two different SoC variants, one variant is fueled by the MediaTek MT6737M 64-bit quad-core SoC running at 1.1GHz, while the other one comes with MediaTek’s MT6580 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. A 2,200mAh battery is also included in this package, and the device sports an 8-megapixel shooter on its back. A 2-megapixel selfie shooter is included here as well, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Huawei Y3 2017, with the company’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin on top of it.
It seems like the Huawei Y3 2017 is made out of metal, and unfortunately Huawei still did not release any info when it comes to its pricing. Having said that, this phone will be quite affordable, it’s inferior to pretty much every other smartphone Huawei released this year, and this phone will be sold in emerging markets, at least that will be its primary markets.
