Injustice 2 Launches On Android And Is Free To Download

In the run-up to the release of Injustice 2 for consoles that’s scheduled for May 16, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released the Injustice 2 mobile game. The title started rolling out on the Google Play Store on Thursday and is now available for download worldwide. Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Injustice 2 is a DC-themed action game that provides its players with the opportunity to control their favorite DC superheroes and supervillains and take out some less beloved characters controlled by other players or the game’s AI. As expected, Injustice 2 supports chaotic 3-on-3 battles and noticeably upgraded visuals over its predecessor, as well as a number of new gameplay modes that will aim to keep you entertained for months.

The main Story Mode of Injustice 2 is presented in chapters that will be released one by one over the coming months, NetherRealm’s Creative Director Ed Boon revealed, without clarifying on how often is the studio planning to launch content updates for its latest game. Just like Injustice: Gods Among Us, Injustice 2 for mobile devices isn’t a downgraded port of the console game, but a title that was built for smartphones and tablets from the ground up. While many of its gameplay modes have been improved, the basic control scheme of Injustice 2 is similar to that introduced by its predecessor, which was expected seeing how both players and critics were praising the original game for its intuitive controls suitable for touchscreen devices. Apart from the Story Mode, Injustice 2 also features a PvP Arena and a new Operations mode that’s based on timers and allows you to unlock new content and currency even when you aren’t actively playing the game by sending your characters on missions.

When not completing missions and fighting other characters from the DC universe, Injustice 2 will allow you to outfit your heroes and villains with a broad range of gear and even connect the game to its console counterpart to access special digital rewards.
