One such action is called My Favorite Poems and allows users to listen to professional actors recite famous poems. Developed by independent studio Opearlo, My Favorite Poems provides Google Home users with an option of saving all of their favorite poems for later listening and seemingly features a vast database of various recitals, though the app itself is relatively simple to use. The Google Home was also recently updated with two quizzes – the Hitchhiker’s Guide Quiz and Guess the Founder. While the former has a relatively self-explanatory name, the latter refers to startup founders and will test your knowledge of the Silicon Valley’s trendiest tech companies. Users interested in more complex experiences can check out 6 Swords, a unique role-playing game that puts the player in charge of a band of six mercenaries and tasks them with exploring towns and raiding dungeons. Another new action that was recently added to the Google Home is the UV Meter service that provides users with an ultraviolet (UV) ray index in real time. Finally, the newly introduced Time Machine action is essentially a voice-enabled database of The New York Times headlines that allows users to quickly listen to headlines published on any date in the last 166 years.
Regarding the Google I/O 2017 action, the service now works as expected and is capable of providing you with a detailed description of the upcoming developer conference, in addition to talking about particular sessions that are scheduled to take place in Mountain View, California from May 17 to May 19. Unsurprisingly, the action is scarce on the details regarding the Google Keynote that’s set to be the highlight of the conference and the occasion on which the Alphabet-owned company will announce the majority of its news, though it does promise that “the keynote is going to be awesome.”
