Meizu had introduced the Meizu M5 back in October last year, and the company has now unveiled this phone in India. The device was originally introduced in China, and as you can see, it took Meizu quite a bit of time to offer it to the Indian consumers. That being said, the Meizu M5 is a budget smartphone which is actually quite affordable, and good phones with such affordable price tags usually do well in India. The Meizu M5 comes to India in Champagne Gold and Sapphire Blue color variants, and it is priced at Rs. 10,499 ($164) in the country. The Meizu M5 is a phone made out of polycarbonate, and it comes with a physical home key which is placed below the display, and also acts as a capacitive back button, and a fingerprint scanner. The Meizu M5 is actually quite a compact smartphone, it sports a 5.2-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The device is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor, and the Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. The device also packs in 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. A 3,070mAh battery is included in this package, and there are two SIM card slots on the inside of this smartphone.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Meizu M5, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Meizu’s Flyme OS skin. A 13-megapixel snapper (PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens) is placed on the back of this smartphone, and a 5-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture, 4P lens) can be found on the phone’s front side. This phone offers 4G LTE connectivity, and comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE. The device’s fingerprint scanner is capable of unlocking the phone in 0.2 seconds, says Meizu, and this is Meizu’s mTouch 2.1 fingerprint scanner, in case you were wondering. The Meizu M5 measures 147.28 x 72.8 x 8.15mm, while it weighs 138 grams.
